Reindeer Cyclone
Acrylic on unstretched linen, 150 x 200 cm, 2025
In moments of danger, herds of reindeer form a vast and intricate spiral, surrounding and shielding the weakest members of the group. Constantly moving in circles, the hundreds of individual bodies merge into a single entity, confusing predators and ensuring the safety of the entire herd. Based on actual aerial footage of such events, Reindeer Cyclone is an abstract representation of this choreography, frozen in time. Isolating a fragment of the larger cyclone, the work captures the reindeer’s frenetic energy and evokes the collective force of their protective unity.
